The Ronettes
My fondest memory of this dog is admittedly a bit strange. I was 17 years old and had just found out that my incompetent guidance counselor had a made a mistake, one of my elective credits from Colorado didn’t transfer and I wasn’t going to be able to walk with the rest of my class at graduation (everything ended up working out and I got to walk). I remember sitting on the stairs of my parents’ house and sobbing because I was 17 and this seemed like the end of the world to me. And this wonderful dog woke up from his nap on the couch, came and sat on the stairs with me, leaned into me and sighed. It was as if he understood exactly what I was going through and this was the only way he knew how to comfort me. I can’t express how much I’ll miss this animal, he was more like a brother to me than a pet. I was 12 when this photo was taken; he was a part of my life for so long, but not nearly long enough. Boo, you were the greatest dog I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. I’m sorry I obviously didn’t know how to hold a puppy when I was a kid (as evidenced in this picture). Anyway, you were so loved by everyone who met you. I’ll love you forever.
